Caldera - Antofagasta Route 5

The project consists in the expansion, improvement, conservation and operation of Route 5 in the section between the ending of the concession of Route 5 Vallenar-Caldera, to the current concession in Autopistas de la Región de Antofagasta, with an extension of approximately 470 km. This highway preliminarily considers the development of a double roadway with two lanes per direction of traffic, and a service speed of 120 km/h, with the standard used in all the concessioned roads in the country. The work includes the improvement of safety standards of the route with segregation of vehicle flows and footbridges, pedestrian stops. There will also be rest areas, warning elements to avoid somnolence on the road, among others.
