With an outstanding legal career and extensive expertise in labour law, Mauricio joins the firm’s partnership team to enhance its presence and strengthen its standing in the Colombian market.

Gómez-Pinzón Abogados, our law firm in the Colombian market, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mauricio Montealegre as a new partner in its Labour Law practice. This brings the total number of partners at the firm to 24, with 9 women among them.

Montealegre, who joined Gómez-Pinzón in 2018 and assumed the role of Director of the Labour Law Practice Group in 2021, brings over 16 years of experience in corporate labour law. Throughout his career, he has been recognised for advising national and international companies, actively participating in complex business transactions, including some of the most significant in the country. He has played a key role in crafting practical labour solutions for the dynamic world of mergers and acquisitions. His expertise includes labour dispute resolution, developing integration strategies, and implementing compensation schemes. He has led audit and due diligence processes, negotiations with unions and senior executives, and the management of voluntary retirement plans.

Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes, S.C., our Mexican law firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Anacandy Perusquía and Fernando Guerrero as partners in the Corporate M&A and Energy & Infrastructure areas, respectively. Additionally, Elian Avila has been named Counsel for the Antitrust and Data Protection areas. These appointments will take effect on January 1St, 2025.

An expert in administrative and regulatory law, Fernando Guerrero has worked on infrastructure projects, public-private partnerships, and telecommunications, participating in public tender processes and administrative procedures before federal and local authorities.

With extensive experience in Amparo litigation and contentious-administrative proceedings, Elian Ávila advises on competition and data protection matters. She has represented clients in highly complex transactions and defended their interests before regulatory bodies such as IFETEL, COFECE, and INAI, and will continue to do so before the regulatory entities that replaced them.
