Our team is ranked among the leading law firms highlighted for Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru highlighted in the 2022 survey for its representation of 20 of the largest banks in the region within the last 12 months, including Itaú Unibanco, Banco Santander, BTG Pactual and Scotiabank.

LACCA’s survey examines which firms proved the most popular with the region’s leading financial institutions and the trends that dominated the Latin American banking sector in 2022.

TTR Data names two Affinitas firms transactions among its Deals of the Quarter

Deal of the Quarter Colombia 1Q 2023: Cemex España acquires additional 4.15% in Cemex Latam Holdings

Gómez-Pinzón advised Cemex España, a Madrid-based entity engaged in producing cement, in the acquisition of an additional 4.15% in Cemex Latam Holdings through a Public Takeover Offer launched to de-list the company’s shares from the Colombian stock exchange (BVC). The deal value was COP 110 billion.

Deal of the Quarter Peru 1Q 2023: Grupo Wiese sells 100% of Holding Transoceánica

Miranda & Amado advised the sellers’ majority individual shareholder in the sale, by Grupo Wiese, of Holding Transoceánica, the titleholder of a 50% stake in Petrolera Transoceánica (Petranso), a shipping company operating in Peru and on the west coast of South America, in favor of its co-controlling partner Ultratug, a leading Chilean shipping company, which thus became the sole controller.

Barros & Errázuriz Promotes Two New Partners

Chilean member firm Barros & Errázuriz announced the appointment of two new partners. María Fernanda Espinosa and Andrés Rodríguez have been promoted to partners of the Labor and Telecommunications, Technology and Data Protection practice groups, respectively.

With more than 10 years of experience, María Fernanda has focused her career in labor law, advising domestic and foreign clients in all day-to-day corporate labor issues, hiring and downsizing processes, labor issues related to M&A transactions, planning of executive compensation structures, development and implementation of collective bargaining policies and processes.

Andrés has focused his practice on matters related to the telecommunications industry, information technology and data protection. He has advised the Government of Chile and various national and international companies in these matters.
