Affinitas participated in the IBA Annual Conference 2024 in Mexico City

Our Affinitas delegation had a notable presence at the 2024 IBA Annual Conference, held in Mexico City. The conference provided an invaluable opportunity to strengthen connections and share knowledge with the global legal community.

During the event, our team held meetings with renowned international firms, which helped to reinforce professional ties and explore new collaboration opportunities.

Additionally, we hosted a cocktail reception at Blanco Castelar, one of Mexico City’s most iconic venues, with more than 180 sector representatives in attendance. We also joined the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes, our member firm in Mexico, at the Dolores Olmedo Museum.

Our representatives at the conference also stood out as speakers in various sessions:

  • Carola Trucco participated as a speaker in the sessions “Jurisdictions and Structures Used by Latin American Families for Estate and Succession Planning” and “Laws of Attraction: Incentivizing Early Investor Capital and Company Impacts”. These presentations addressed strategies for estate structuring and attracting early-stage investments, considering the needs of Latin American families and the impact of these investments on companies.
  • Alejandro Linares Cantillo took part in the session “Judicial Intervention in Arbitration: A Comparative Analysis of the Regimes in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas”, where different levels of judicial intervention in arbitration hearings across multiple jurisdictions were explored, and the available avenues for challenging arbitration on a global scale were discussed.
  • Adriana Morales participated in the session “SG Scorecard – Stop Talking the Talk and Start Walking the Walk”, where corporate performance was analyzed from a social and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) perspective.

The participation of our team in these sessions was key to contributing to an enriching dialogue on the challenges and opportunities in the sector.

We are excited about the new connections established and would like to thank everyone who made Affinitas’ participation in the event possible.
