Chambers and Partners ranks 120 Affinitas lawyers and 53 practice areas in its 2021 Latin America edition

Leading international directory Chambers and Partners recently published its 2021 edition for Latin America. Chambers researched 20 countries and 240 practice areas in Latin America, covering the period from September 2019 to May 2020. The guide includes 1063 ranked firms and 5671 individual rankings.

The publication of the guide is an important performance indicator for law firms active in the region as it ranks firms in their jurisdictions based on feedback gathered from clients and peers, as well as on information provided by the firms themselves.

Despite an absence of a regional category for Latin American firms, one can aggregate data from the rankings in the countries of the Pacific Alliance to get a sense of the regional strengths of the main players active across the four jurisdictions (Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru).

When looking at number of lawyers ranked in this latest edition, Affinitas stands out as the leading regional team in the market with a total of 120 lawyers being recognized. The closest competitors – other law firms that operate under a single brand and are present in several or all jurisdiction of the Pacific Alliance- significantly lag behind, with the next three firms obtaining 89, 74 and 45 rankings respectively.

Affinitas also obtained no less than 53 practice area rankings, making it the regional team with the strongest offering in its league. What stands out when having a closer look at these rankings is that out those 53 practice areas ranked, 15 are in Band1, 20 in Band 2 and 18 in Band 3, with no Band 4 or Band 5 rankings. This aligns perfectly with the business strategy of our alliance: leading in every market where we are present and for every service we offer.

Affinitas itself is also ranked in Band 1 in the category «Leading Regional Law Firm Networks in Latin America-wide».

We would like to thank our member firms for this outstanding performance, and also thank their clients for their continued trust and feedback.
