He has worked on multiple domestic and international offerings assisting issuers, investment banks and other financial institutions. In addition, he has been involved in several mergers and acquisitions banking and other corporate finance transactions in Mexico and the United States.

Carlos Orci

Carlos, socio de Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes, focuses his practice on Corporate, Competition and Telecommunications Law matters, including the representation of companies in mergers and acquisitions, as well as in merger control procedures, cartels, abuse of dominance, essential facilities, and barriers to entry investigations.

Carlos has advised companies in landmark competition matters in Mexico, counseling national and international clients in proceedings before the Federal Economic Competition Commission, the Federal Telecommunications Institute and the Federal Courts. His experience spans a variety of industries, including the technology, media and telecommunications, banking and financial services, aviation, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, mining, maritime, railway, transport, consumer products, and automotive sectors.

He also has experience in media, technology, and telecommunications (TMT), advising companies on public bids, granting concessions, and administrative procedures before the Communications and Transport Ministry and the Federal Telecommunications Institute.

Carlos is the chairman of MootComp, a non-profit organization focused on promoting competition law.

Rafael Corzo

Rafael, partner at Miranda & Amado, leads Financial Regulation and Insurance and Reinsurance teams. His professional practice focuses on banking regulation, insurance, bankruptcy, complex disputes, transactions and foreign investment matters. In this connection, Rafael regularly advises on financing and collateral transactions, as well as on Financial System regulation, which includes organizational and operating authorization applications for regulated companies, corporate restructuring arrangements, and voluntary corporate restructuring and winding-up transactions. He also provides advice on Insurance System transactions and investments (including reinsurance transactions) and regulation. Rafael provides counsel in bankruptcy matters and has participated in bankruptcy proceedings relating to corporate restructuring and market exit.

His substantial client portfolio includes financial sector global corporations, as well as other financial and insurance institutions operating in Peru and the region.
In 1999, Rafael was among the founders of Miranda & Amado. Prior to that, he was an associate at Mayer, Brown & Platt (Chicago) in 1997 and an assistant legal manager at BBVA Banco Continental from 1994 to 1995.

He serves as a Special Representative of Peru to several foreign banking and financial companies, multilateral organizations and transnational corporations.
