Salares Norte

Salares Norte is a greenfield gold and silver project located in the Atacama region, between 3,900 and 4,700 meters above sea level, 180 kilometers northeast of the city of Diego de Almagro and 330 kilometers from the regional capital, Copiapó. In operation, during the first half of 2023, 2 million tons of ore per year will be processed for an average production of 2.8 million ounces per year of doré metal (gold – silver), which translates into 350,000 gold equivalent ounces.

La Coipa Restart (Phase 7)

Kinross announced the reopening of La Coipa moving forward with the Phase 7 project in the Atacama Region.
The La Coipa project will have an initial capital investment of approximately US$225 million, in addition to the Company’s existing working capital, mainly the Processing Plant, Truck Shop, and Camp.
This project is expected to generate up to 700 jobs in the development stage and up to 1,000 during the year of maximum activity of the operation.
In addition to the optimization of Phase 7, the company highlighted the incorporation of the Purén pit near the project, which could incorporate close to 200 thousand ounces of material at the production level. With this, the plan is to produce a total of approximately one million ounces of gold, starting the first production in 2022 and extending the life of the mine until early 2026, increasing its useful life by 45%.
