The project involves the exploitation of minerals through an open pit, a processing plant, and a filtered tailings deposit (DRF). It will produce 90,000 tons per year of copper concentrates with gold content over 15 years, processing 15,000 dry tons daily. The pit will cover 72 hectares, with a maximum diameter of 1,550 meters and a depth of 340 meters.
Industria Proyecto: Mining
Operational Continuity of Barreal Seco Mine
The project under evaluation, which will modify the approved Barreal Seco Mine (MBS) project through RCA N°0044/2014 from the Antofagasta Regional Evaluation Commission, aims to provide continuity for an additional 29 years for the extraction and dispatch of minerals from the Barreal Seco mine.
Gypsum Panels Plant and Rubí Quarry Expansion
The project aims to expand the current exploitation of gypsum ore in the Rubí deposit, from 5,000 t/month to a maximum of 62,500 t/month, achieving a potential extraction rate of 375,000 t/year of gypsum (for six (6) months of seasonal operation due to climatic restrictions). The open-pit mining method will be used, with material being extracted through drilling and blasting. It is noteworthy that the establishment of an area as a waste dump is considered, where the waste material will be deposited.
