Description:
The project considers the construction of a highway located in the southern area of Santiago, which begins in the Acceso Sur by the north bank parallel to the Maipo River until the Route 5, then in the section between the Route 5 and the Autopista del Sol, continues parallel to the south of the current Calera de Tango road until it connects with the Route 78. The future route will create connectivity of the flows coming from the sector of Peñaflor and the Port of San Antonio, towards Route 5 and the south of Greater Santiago; improving the connectivity between Route 78 (Autopista del Sol) and Route 5 and Southern Access to Santiago. Along with this, it will generatesa new combination of exit/entry to Santiago from/to the coast via Route 78, as well as a better connection of the northwestern area of Santiago with Route 5 South from Route 78.
Preliminarily, the route considers the development of four links: Route 78, Camino Lonquén, Route 5 and Acceso Sur to Santiago, as well as three underpass crossings.
