Description:
The project of the Mayan Train consists of providing transport services that will connect the main cities and tourist areas of the Yucatan Peninsula. Its objective are: i) encourage social and economic development in the region and within local communities; ii) strengthen the tourism industry in Mexico; and iii) foster social inclusion and job generation.
The main components of the project are:
- Railway construction
- Supply of rolling stock
- Installation of signaling, communication and security systems
- Construction of stations
- Operation of passenger and cargo services
