Leading international legal guide The Legal 500 recently published its Latin America 2022 ranking. The publication of the guide is an important performance indicator for law firms active in the region as it ranks firms in their jurisdictions based on feedback gathered from clients and peers, as well as information provided by the firms themselves.

All Affinitas’ member firms are recognized as Top Tier Firms, obtaining no less than 71 practice area rankings. This aligns perfectly with the business strategy of our alliance: leading in every market where we are present and for every service we offer.

Barros & Errázuriz appoints new partner

Affinitas is pleased to announce that member Firm in Chile, Barros & Errázuriz, appointed Felipe Allende as new partner and head of its mining practice.

Felipe, a lawyer from Diego Portales University, will lead the Firm’s Natural Resources practice area alongside partner Fernando Garrido, as well as directors Cristóbal Pellegrini (Energy) and Matías Montoya (Environment).

With this incorporation, the structure of Barros & Errázuriz is made up of 27 partners and more than 100 lawyers, consolidating itself as one of the most important legal firms in Chile.

For the first time this year, the English publication, Latin Lawyer 250 presents leading Latin American law firms (and international firms visible in the region) ranking them in three distinct categories: Elite, Highly Recommended and Recommended, from research based on reported transactions and advice, in addition to their client relationships, and knowledge of Latin American markets.

Affinitas is delighted to share all four of its member firms are once again recognized as Elite Firm. No other international firm, network or alliance managed to achieve this result across the countries of the Pacific Alliance, which confirms, according to Latin Lawyer 250, its positioning, leadership and trajectory in the region.

The following is a summary of the characteristics that stand out in each of the Affinitas member firms:

This law firm has 16 recommended practice areas, and reaffirms its commitment to quality and responsiveness, which consolidates its position as one of the leading law firms in its country.
  • Miranda & Amado (Peru) was recognized as a “Dynamic Corporate Powerhouse”, for its leadership in transactional and non-transactional work. With 17 recognized practice areas, the firm emphasizes its focus on innovation and excellence.

The publication is the result of an annual survey conducted by Latin Lawyer’s editorial team and is elaborated with the objective of identifying the strengths and key players in the Latin American legal market. It is worth noting that the guide, present for more than 20 years, covers more than 18 countries in Latin America, the United States, Canada and Europe, thus guaranteeing a rigorous analysis of the current state of the legal market in the Latin American region.
