Carlos Orci

Carlos, socio de Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes, focuses his practice on Corporate, Competition and Telecommunications Law matters, including the representation of companies in mergers and acquisitions, as well as in merger control procedures, cartels, abuse of dominance, essential facilities, and barriers to entry investigations.

Carlos has advised companies in landmark competition matters in Mexico, counseling national and international clients in proceedings before the Federal Economic Competition Commission, the Federal Telecommunications Institute and the Federal Courts. His experience spans a variety of industries, including the technology, media and telecommunications, banking and financial services, aviation, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, mining, maritime, railway, transport, consumer products, and automotive sectors.

He also has experience in media, technology, and telecommunications (TMT), advising companies on public bids, granting concessions, and administrative procedures before the Communications and Transport Ministry and the Federal Telecommunications Institute.

Carlos is the chairman of MootComp, a non-profit organization focused on promoting competition law.

Ricardo Maldonado

Ricardo, partner at Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes, has over 20 years of experience providing advice and counseling to Mexican and foreign companies and clients on domestic and cross-border merger and acquisition transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances. He also represents issuers and financial institutions in several domestic and international, public and private, debt and equity offerings, and advises clients in the negotiation, structuring and drafting of complex financings and in infrastructure projects.

Ricardo also focuses part of his practice to Corporate Governance matters, advising family-owned and publicly listed companies in related matters.

In addition, Ricardo has been consistently ranked by Chambers & Partners and by Legal 500 as a Band 1 / Top Tier lawyer in Corporate / M&A.

Ricardo serves as member and/or secretary of the Board of Directors of several private and stock exchange listed companies.

On ProBono work, Ricardo actively participates as a mentor and lawyer assisting in matters of Endeavor México and of the Mexican Bar Association Foundation. He also serves at the Board of both Foundations.

Roberto Mac Lean

Roberto, founding partner at Miranda & Amado, has broad experience in diverse corporate, finance and capital markets transactions, mainly in acquisitions, project finance and infrastructure projects. Roberto has handled the acquisition of different corporations, both under the scope of the Peruvian Business Corporations Act and the General Bankruptcy Proceedings Act.
