The project consists of a new concession of Route 57 CH, which links Santiago, in the Metropolitan Region, and Route 60 CH to the east of the city of Los Andes, in the Valparaiso Region. With an extension of 117.1 km, the current concession includes three branches: Auco-San Felipe (Route E-899), Chacabuco-Polpaico (Route G 71) and San José-Lo Pinto (Route G 73). The initiative contemplates the expansion and improvement of the existing route. Among the planned works are also the expansion to double tracks or third tracks in some sectors, the improvement of transverse connectivity especially in the urban metropolitan radius, the improvement and continuity of service roads, the construction of new service roads, service areas, bike paths and footbridges with their respective stops. It also considers the improvement of links, the revision of the connection axes with Route 5, their improvement and the projection of a new axis to replace some of the existing ones if necessary; and the construction of a new Chacabuco Tunnel.
The work will improve connectivity between the mountain range and the coast, generating an expeditious route for commercial traffic, since it connects with Route 60 CH and the Los Libertadores Border Complex.
Industria Proyecto: Toll roads and highways
2° Concession of Temuco - Rio Bueno Route 5
The project corresponds to the improvement of 172 km of the current Route 5 in the section between Temuco and Rio Bueno, as well as the construction of a new 100km-road of double roadway in the north and south entrances to Valdivia. The project covers the regions of La Araucanía and Los Ríos and considers the development of new bridges, footbridges, bus stops and new links, as well as the replacement of existing structures such as bridges and the Los Lagos bypass.
Road Concession Border Route
The initiative also proposes the improvement of 71 kilometers, corresponding to the stretch that extends from Entrelagos to the Borderline (km 46 to km 117.6), through the optimization of the current standard profile, the replacement of the currently existing simple roadway and the rehabilitation of structures.
In the last section of Route 215-CH, it is proposed to modernize the area’s safety facilities and equipment, incorporating technological optimization systems, and ground support equipment, mainly the clearing and removal of snow and ice, in winter emergencies. This will allow planning and coordinating the opening, operation and transit of the Cardinal Samore Border Crossing.
The initiative will reduce the travel time between Route 5 and the border limit by 30 minutes, improve connectivity and trade through the Cardenal Samoré border crossing, which borders the Argentine Republic.
