Affinitas firms score top tier recognition in The Legal 500 Latin America 2023 rankings

Affinitas firms win two Bonds & Loans Awards 2022

Affinitas is delighted to announce that its member firms Gómez-Pinzón and Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes advised on two transactions that won two 2022 Bond & Loans Latin America & Caribbean Deals of the Year awards.

The awards recognize the most innovative and ground-breaking deals from sovereign, corporate and financial Institution issuers and borrowers in the Latin-American region.

The winning deals on which the Affinitas’ firms advised were:

Acquisition Finance Deal of the Year
Colombian member firm Gómez-Pinzón acted as counsel to Banco Santander, Citibank, JPMorgan Chase Bank and The Bank of Nova Scotia, as lenders, in the negotiation of the loan agreement for an amount of USD 4,000,000,000 granted to Ecopetrol for the acquisition of 51.4% of the outstanding shares of Interconexión Eléctrica S.A. – ISA from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit.

MXN Deal of the Year
Mexican member firm Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes counselled Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA), as well as Citibanamex, HSBC and Santander, in the issuance of its sustainability linked long-term local bonds for USD 200.8 million.
